Winnie: Tech startup founders wear many hats and so there is a long list of essential skills. I will probably be able to write a whole article just trying to list all these skills. Let me just list the few skills/traits that I personally think are the most crucial:
- Ability to sell. Sell your company, your vision, your product, or yourself. You must be able to sell to raise money, recruit talents, and generate revenue.
- Management skills. With limited resource and runway, technopreneurs must be able to manage the people and funds effectively to achieve clear goals.
- Tenacity. Persistent determination is a must have because most people will shoot down your idea in the beginning and you will meet with failures. But try, try, and try again. And repeat.
